Habitat for Humanity Guelph Wellington is looking to hire full-time contract ReStore Sales Associates and Warehouse Associates at both our Fergus and Guelph ReStores. Please review the postings below and submit your application to Deb Stanson, Director of ReStores – deb@habitatgw.ca.

ReStore Warehouse Associate

Job Summary: The ReStore Warehouse Associate is responsible for coordinating the donations received at the store, from entry into the store to pricing and stocking inventory onto the sales floor, and for providing an excellent customer service experience to both residential and corporate donors.

Warehouse Associate role

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Understand the ReStore Policy and Procedures as well as oversee efficient processing of donated items from receiving area to the sales floor.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and ensure all volunteers adhere to the procedures as well.
  • Screen product for usability to determine if going to ReStore or into recycling.
  • Unloading vehicles at the store and/or overseeing volunteers to complete this task.
  • Coordinate with sales staff and supervisor to ensure product is allocated to appropriate areas in store.
  • Assist in stocking the store with properly priced inventory to keep the warehouse and outside areas in a clean, organized, and safe state.
  • Clean and move priced items to the showroom floor as they are processed
  • Exhibit positive working attitude by demonstrating respect for and clear communication with fellow workers, volunteers, donors, and customers.
  • Assist customers with transporting purchases to their vehicle when needed.
  • Understand and support the affiliates mission and vision
  • Share and articulate affiliate goals within the community
  • Maintain donor records and product records as requested.
  • Complete and file all required documentation as outlined in established ReStore Procedures or requested by the ReStore Manager
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Fully supports the ideals and mission of Habitat for Humanity Guelph Wellington
  • Some mechanical aptitude
  • Effective customer service skills
  • Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Able to work independently and handle multiple tasks
  • Team player

Requirements:

  • Adherence to proper application of standard PPE and physical distancing protocols as applicable
  • Adherence to COVID-19 vaccination policy as applicable

Schedule:

37.5 hours per week Tuesday to Saturday

ReStore Sales Associate

Job Summary:  ReStore Store Associates are responsible for greeting, assisting, and answering customer questions about products, materials and communicating the Habitat for Humanity Guelph Wellington mission.  They work in partnership with the team to ensure efficient service to customers and enhancing the store’s atmosphere.  Provides support in the handling and processing of inventory.  

Sales Associate role

 Specific Responsibilities:

  • Interact with customers in a friendly, helpful manner, finding answers to their questions and making their experience enjoyable.
  • Operate the cash register with appropriate cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Convey store policies and procedures to customers in a straightforward manner.
  • Assist the team in the maintenance and upkeep of the store.
  • Follow all safety procedures.
  • Create and maintain effective sales displays, including clear and visible pricing and signage.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe environment for customers, staff and volunteers.
  • Lead and work closely with volunteers; ensures that the volunteer program is successful by contributing to a positive, supportive atmosphere and encouraging volunteer engagement.
  • Assist with the receiving, processing and stocking of materials,
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Friendly, outgoing, helpful attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Maturity, responsibility, and reliability to perform with minimal supervision.
  • Honesty and integrity in handling retail sales revenue.
  • Basic math skills with computer and cash register literacy.
  • Knowledge of building materials and home improvement a plus.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with limited climate control.
