At Habitat for Humanity Guelph Wellington, we envision a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live. To achieve this vision, we partner with our community to build homes that provide the foundation for bright, stable and empowered futures for the families and individuals who live there.
Our Mission
Habitat for Humanity Guelph Wellington partners with families through affordable housing so that they may attain social and financial stability to transform their futures and our community.
Our Mission in Action
We do this by the following activities:
- Engaging volunteers and partners in the community, the ReStores and on the build site;
- Building and rehabilitating safe affordable family homes;
- Building financial stability; creating a potential pathway to homeownership.
Your financial support, your voice, and your time will help bring strength, stability and self-reliance to families in need of a decent place to live. Donate today.

Our Operating Principles
A hand up – not a hand out.
Habitat for Humanity tailors occupancy costs to family income. In some cases we do this though interest free mortgages; for some families we use a deferred ownership model that allocates a portion of rent as an equity contribution to a future home purchase. We require all partner families and individuals to contribute up to 500 hours of time by volunteering in construction, the ReStore, office work and/or fundraising. Working together with staff and volunteers, we encourage the development of life and employment skills.
Environmental sustainability
Since the 2007 building season, we have committed to building all homes to the EnergyStar standard for energy efficiency and will continue to meet or exceed these standards as our building practices develop. We have also committed to the City of Guelph’s Blue Built Home Program. These programs save water, energy, and reduce utility bills making our Habitat homes more affordable, sustainable, and livable for our partner families while helping the environment.
global partnership
For every house we build in our communities, we support Habitat for Humanity’s international build efforts through tithing.
