Turn your electronics into HOMES for Habitat

Our ReStores provide a free recycling program that raises funds to build Habitat homes by collecting your used and unwanted electronics. In partnership with eCycle Solutions, our ReStores divert tons of electronics (e-waste) from our landfills by ensuring they are responsibly recycled. From your generous donation, Habitat for Humanity receives recycling revenue that goes directly to support our mission in building safe and affordable housing and promoting homeownership to help break the cycle of poverty.

What is e-waste?

Electronic waste or e-waste describes discarded electrical or electronic devices. There are many forms of e-waste that you can bring to our Habitat ReStores.

OES (Ontario Electronic Stewardship) eligible products:

  • Keyboards, mice, speakers, desktop printers, fax machines, personal audio/visual systems, vehicle aftermarket audio systems, home theatres, non-cellular phones and answering machines, cell phones, pagers, cameras

Other products eCycle Solutions will accept:

  • Cable boxes, Cords & extension cords, CD/DVD/DVR/VCR players, cell phones, Christmas lights, circuit boards, gaming consoles, microwave ovens, modems/network switches, network equipment, projectors, stereo receivers

By donating your old electronics and appliances, you will be diverting waste from the landfill. You’ll also be supporting the Habitat mission.

Please bring any e-waste items to one of our two ReStores. Donations are accepted Tuesday to Saturday. Click here to see our hours and locations.

Why are we unable to sell electronics?

Participation in the OES program requires our due diligence to ensure all electronics donated to Habitat for Humanity have been designated for pure destruction and recycling. All electronics – once collected – will be responsibly stripped, separated, shredded and sorted to a pure commodity level for re-use and re-purposing.
