We understand how stressful it can be to live in an unstable housing situation, and that everyone deserves a safe, secure place to call home. Habitat for Humanity GW is here to help. If you’re in need of affordable, stable housing and can make mortgage payments capped at 30% of your annual income, we invite you to apply to become a Habitat homeowner. By partnering with us and contributing through volunteering, you’ll be part of a supportive community that’s ready to help you build a better, more secure future for yourself and your family. What are the benefits of homeownership?
Families and individuals who partner with Habitat Guelph Wellington in our Homeownership program receive:
- Flexible down-payment options
- Affordable mortgage payments capped at 30% of household income
- Shared Equity Mortgage Model to allow families to build equity and appreciation over time
- Second mortgage at 0% interest
What kind of homes are available?
While the specific availability of units will depend on the timing of your application, and community of interest, Habitat Guelph Wellington is currently building in Guelph and Fergus:
- Condominium Communities as apartments or stacked townhomes
- 1 – 4 bedrooms, with 1 – 1.5 bathrooms
- 600sqft. to 1,200sqft.

What is the application process like?
Habitat Guelph Wellington has an established application and review process that is supported by our staff team at each step, the first few steps are:
- Fill out an Eligibility Questionnaire
- Upon invitation, submit a full application submission
- Invitation to a Pre-Approval Meeting with Meridian Credit Union
We’ll support you at each step as you prepare for your homeownership journey. A full pre-recorded Homeownership General Information session is available online for you to watch anytime, or you can attend a live Homeownership Information Session.
