Dec 9, 2020 |

Thank you to our volunteers, donors, shoppers, and corporate partners for supporting us in 2020! You have helped us complete Cityview Village, ensuring that more families in our community can experience the life-changing impact of safe and affordable housing. Please take a moment to read our Winter newsletter for some key updates. We wish you all the best this holiday season.

Hearts for Homes + Giving Tuesday
Our Hearts for Homes fundraising campaign has reached $125,000! We saw a lovely boost during Giving Tuesday. There is still time to make a donation, no matter the size. Your end-of-year donation will help us reach our goal of wrapping up Cityview Village and starting plans on our next big build.

Welcome Home!

“It was hard to think that we would ever own our own home, but we received this opportunity from Habitat for Humanity and are so thankful for it.”
2020 Habitat Homeowner

Virtual Key Ceremony

Families are moving in to the last 8 units of Cityview Village! On December 12 at 10am, tune into our social media platforms to help us celebrate this accomplishment! This presentation will be available on YouTube and Facebook.

Thank you to our volunteers!

Thank you so much to our many volunteers for your contributions in 2020. It has been a year like no other, but you have continued to show an amazing commitment for your community and our mission, helping families to build strength, stability and independence for our shared future.

Did you know? Your donations and purchases at our ReStores help more homeowners achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves and their families.

Meaning of Home

The annual Meaning of Home contest is coming January 4 to February 19, 2021! Open to grades 4, 5, and 6 students, this is a chance to share what home means to you, and every entry ensures a $10 donation to your local Habitat. Visit www.meaningofhome.ca for more info. Thank you to the “water rockers” Grade 5 class who entered last year!

Dufferin Update – Starting in the new year, our partners at Habitat for Humanity Halton-Mississauga will be assuming leadership of local build and ReStore activities taking place in Dufferin County. As one of Habitat for Humanity Canada’s larger affiliates, they will bring more capacity to advance affordable housing initiatives in the Orangeville and area communities. More announcements to follow.
